The Mobile Crisis Clinician serves as the clinical staff on a two-person crisis response team, providing rapid assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term stabilization in homes, schools, workplaces, and community settings. Under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Professional, this staff conducts crisis assessments, develops treatment and safety plans, provides on-site therapeutic support, and coordinates care to prevent unnecessary hospitalization or law enforcement involvement. This is a field-based, fast-paced position ideal for motivated clinicians seeking hands-on experience, strong supervision, and a meaningful career in crisis care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active or eligible for registration as a Supervisee (LMHP-S) under the Virginia Board of Social Work.
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various community settings.
- Strong written communication, organization, and crisis management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in crisis intervention, emergency services, or community-based behavioral health.
- Familiarity with DBHDS Crisis System, Appendix G, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
