Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including serving meals, feeding patients as needed, ambulating, turning, and positioning
- Provide personal care, including bathing, hair care, oral care, back care, and elimination care
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake, and output information
- Perform routine perineal and incontinence care
- Observe residents and report changes in their general condition to the appropriate nurse or staff member
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe resident environment
- Complete required documentation accurately and on a daily basis
- Demonstrate flexibility when accepting different assignments
- Current, unencumbered State of Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license
- Strong communication skills when working with residents, nurses, and staff
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong critical-thinking skills
- Ability to handle different situations with tact, professionalism, and compassion
