Heavy Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift

Summary Objective
In this role, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment to support material movement and structural assembly within our production facility. You will play a key part in keeping projects on schedule while ensuring safety and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include identifying and reporting any mechanical or safety issues, following all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations, and assisting with general labor tasks when not operating machinery. You’ll also help maintain production schedules and support the team in meeting project goals.
Essential Functions

Operating a variety of heavy equipment, including:
- Class 7 & Class 5 Forklifts
- 36K Fork Truck
- Carry Deck Crane
- Gantry Crane
- Combi Lift
- Additional equipment as needed
- Safely transport, load, and unload construction materials across the job site.
- Assist with structural assembly, installation, and movement of components using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Maintain daily equipment logs and perform pre-operation inspections and safety walk-arounds.
- Ensure proper care, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Identify and report mechanical issues or potential safety hazards immediately.
- Always comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Perform ground labor tasks as needed when not operating equipment.
- Follow production schedules and execute tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
- May be required to work in various weather conditions and challenging terrain.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Location
This position will work out of our facilities in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 2nd shift hours of work are Monday through Friday, 3:00pm - 1:30am. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Anticipated up to 15% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.
Required Education and Experience.
- 3 Years’ related experience or training
- Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5 Years’ related experience or training
- Reading and Interpreting Technical Documents
- Some vocational technical training
Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
