Title: Expeditor
Location: Houston TX (onsite 5 days)
Duration: 06 months contract
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Monitoring suppliers' manufacturing statuses.
• Analyzing their forecast schedules.
• Ensuring that actual manufacturing progress aligns with reported timelines.
• This role requires frequent site visits to suppliers to verify production consistency and to identify potential delays.
• The Expeditor will play a critical role in challenging suppliers' proposed timelines and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate risks associated with production delays.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Monitoring:
- Follow up on suppliers' manufacturing statuses to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Analyze forecast schedules and compare them with actual manufacturing progress to identify discrepancies.
- Site Visits:
- Conduct regular site visits to suppliers’ manufacturing facilities to assess production progress and compliance with progress reports.
- Gather on-site insights to inform internal teams and stakeholders.
Timeline Management:
- Challenge and verify the dates provided by suppliers to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
- Anticipate potential delays in the manufacturing process and proactively address them.
Risk Mitigation:
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies and ideas to mitigate risks of delays.
- Propose solutions and improvements to optimize the manufacturing process and enhance supplier performance.
Communication:
- Maintain clear and open communication with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to provide updates on manufacturing status and any potential issues.
- Prepare and present reports on supplier performance and manufacturing progress to management.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in supply chain management, manufacturing, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to travel for site visits as needed.
Salary : $25 - $30
