Role Summary
The Director will establish and lead the operating model, governance, standards, and continuous-improvement agenda for the enterprise Source-to-Pay Center of Excellence. This leader will serve as the architect and steward of procurement excellence , ensuring that S2P processes are scalable, governed, digitally enabled, and aligned with the company’s business and compliance requirements.
The position operates across strategy and execution, partnering with Procurement and Sourcing leadership, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Sustainability, Digital/IT, and business stakeholders. The Director will oversee process excellence, supplier programs, procurement capability building, and organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
COE Strategy and Governance
- Establish and maintain the enterprise Procurement/S2P COE operating model.
- Define decision rights, governance forums, controls, and escalation pathways.
- Develop enterprise procurement policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Establish accountability for COE maturity, governance effectiveness, and value enablement.
- Ensure procurement standards are applied consistently across regions and business units.
Process Excellence
- Lead end-to-end S2P process design, standardization, and optimization.
- Benchmark procurement maturity against external leading practices.
- Establish continuous-improvement methods using Lean and data-driven performance insights.
- Ensure process designs support future digital and technology roadmaps.
- Define measures for efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and user experience.
Supplier Excellence and External Value
- Advance the Strategic Supplier Relationship Management framework.
- Establish supplier performance, development, and continuous-improvement programs.
- Lead governance for small-business engagement.
- Incorporate sustainability, ESG, and responsible-sourcing considerations into supplier programs.
- Help move Procurement from transactional execution toward strategic enterprise value creation.
Capability and Change Leadership
- Build the procurement capability-development strategy.
- Establish learning programs, career pathways, and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Lead enterprise change associated with procurement processes, technology, and operating-model transformation.
- Coach procurement leaders and elevate functional maturity.
- Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
Performance and Value Governance
- Establish the enterprise S2P performance framework.
- Define KPIs covering value, risk, compliance, supplier performance, and functional maturity.
- Determine what should be measured and how metrics connect to procurement strategy.
- Partner with the S2P Process, Controls & Analytics Director on reporting and insight governance.
- Partner with the User Orchestration, AI & Innovation Director on adoption, behavior, and decision enablement.
People and Stakeholder Leadership
- Lead three managers responsible for Process Design & Excellence, Small Business Engagement, and Capability Building & Change Management.
- Advise senior Procurement and enterprise leaders.
- Represent the COE in executive forums and steering committees.
- Influence senior stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization.
- Balance governance, risk, transformation investment, and business priorities.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement, S2P, Supply Chain, or a closely related function.
- Experience establishing, transforming, or scaling a Procurement Center of Excellence.
- Deep expertise in procurement governance, policy development, and operating-model design.
- Strong end-to-end S2P process-design and optimization experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in SRM, supplier performance, and supplier value creation.
- Significant capability-building, organizational-change, and transformation leadership experience.
- Experience developing enterprise procurement KPIs and performance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of digital procurement enablement, analytics, and metrics.
- Demonstrated success leading managers and high-performing teams.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, ambiguous, and highly matrixed organization.
- Must be based in the Boston area.
Salary : $100 - $110
