Responsibilities
Stellant Systems Engineering is seeking a talented SOFTWARE ENGINEER at our Torrance, California location to provide operational support to our manufacturing and test activities and help maintain flow on the production floor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and development of new software, firmware, stations, and other equipment supporting the automated manufacture and test of our products (which include traveling wave tubes and high-voltage power supplies);
- Improvement, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration of existing software, firmware, stations, and other equipment;
- Creation of documentation and procedures for the above;
- Interaction with technicians and other engineers to gather requirements and requests for improvement.
- If qualified and interested, you may have the opportunity to expand your role to areas outside software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a related hybrid field (with the ideal candidate being competent in both fields);
- Understanding of core computer science concepts, as well as object-oriented programming concepts;
- Competence and experience in software development;
- Familiarity with common programming languages including C#/VB.NET, C/C , Java, PHP, JS;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Good work ethic and desire to take initiative.
- These items are preferred:
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering, particularly RF engineering, and other fields of science and engineering;
- Familiarity and experience with instrument automation;
- Familiarity and experience with SQL databases;
- Familiarity and experience with computer networking;
- Ability to write technically;
- Active secret clearance.
