Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily installation activities of access control, fire alarm, CCTV, surveillance, and security systems in the field.
- Ensure all installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and industry standards.
- Review schematics, technical drawings, and system design documents to plan installation procedures effectively.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on complex systems including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, low voltage wiring, cabling, and network integration.
- Manage inventory of tools such as power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment needed for construction and service tasks.
- Provide on-site training and mentorship to field technicians on system operation, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installation progress, service reports, schematics updates, and compliance records.
- Communicate project status updates to management and coordinate with clients to ensure satisfaction and adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Must be certified in access control systems (e.g., HID, Lenel) and fire alarm systems (e.g., NICET certification or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer in security systems with a strong background in low-voltage electrical work.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts relevant to security system integration and remote access software.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices and building codes necessary for secure installations.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation, system design principles, CCTV setup, sensors deployment, and surveillance technology.
- Strong electrical experience including cabling techniques for security wiring and power distribution.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams accurately while following safety standards such as NEC guidelines.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively in fast-paced environments.
