What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Barista position at Stella's Bakery?
We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and energetic Cashier/Barista to join our team. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming experience for every guest by providing exceptional customer service, preparing quality beverages, accurately taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring orders are packaged correctly. Team members will also assist with cleaning, stocking, and maintaining an organized work environment.
Coffee bar experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Accurately take customer orders in person and through the drive-thru or point-of-sale system.
- Prepare espresso drinks, coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to recipes and quality standards.
- Process cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately.
- Package food and beverage orders neatly and verify order accuracy before serving.
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar, dining area, and workstations throughout the shift.
- Restock cups, lids, syrups, milk, pastries, supplies, and other inventory as needed.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and preparing the station for the next shift.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and teammates to ensure timely service.
- Help maintain inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Comfortable handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Coffee bar or barista experience preferred but not required.
- Previous customer service or restaurant experience is a plus.
