Responsibilities
- Oversees daily office logistics and organization such as patient schedules, front desk customer service, supervision of nonexempt personnel, ordering appropriate office supplies and running the lab, etc.
- Supervises medical assistant, phlebotomist and nurse.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.
- Brings a focused, calming influence to crisis situations and assists with the direction of the appropriate action.
- Encourages and supports others to work cooperatively to accomplish tasks by engaging them in problem solving techniques to achieve solutions that lead to improvement opportunities.
- Attends meetings with human resources, infection control, policy review and at times quality insurance as a liaison between medical services and the organization representing information and data related to vaccine tracking and other COMAR related medical environments.
- Enters schedules and monitors punches in the time and attendance system. Exceptional accuracy and timeliness exceeds standard.
- Ensures Human Resources guidelines are followed regarding payroll procedures and processes, performance management, interviewing, hiring and scheduling staff.
- Ensures the compliance of all phlebotomy services.
- To include appropriate documentation and compliance.
- Oversees the medical regulatory requirements for all new staff being on-boarded and the continuous auditing of existing staff to include vaccines, required checks and questionnaires for the purpose of compliance with COMAR regulations.
- Ensures files are organized, audited and reviewed for survey compliance.
- Supports new hire fit testing for N-95 compliance.
- Subject to change based on regulations/recommendations.
- Supports the coordination of schedules for the specialty practitioners to include the dentist, dermatologist, radiologist, etc.
- Manages patient flow for individual provider while remaining pleasant, respectful, courteous and professional in all interactions with patients, supervisors and peers, consistent with the Stella Maris core philosophy.
- Encourages and supports others to work cooperatively to accomplish tasks by engaging them in problem solving techniques to achieve solutions that lead to improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- RN License Preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
