Responsibilities

The Culinary Support Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sanitation, utility, inventory, and kitchen support operations within Dining Services. The supervisor also is the to lead in pulling and storing of all catering equipment. This position ensures compliance with food safety standards, maintains inspection readiness, supports inventory and supply organization, and provides direct leadership to utility and sanitation staff to ensure safe, efficient, and resident-centered operations.

  • Oversees daily back-of-house sanitation and utility operations across production, dishroom, trayline, and storage areas.
  • Coordinates staffing assignments for dishwashers, porters, and utility staff to ensure operational coverage during meal service and cleaning periods.
  • Maintains department readiness for State Survey, Health Department inspections, and internal sanitation audits at all times.
  • Ensures proper chemical storage, labeling, dilution, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance throughout all kitchen and utility areas.
  • Monitors dish machine temperatures, sanitation buckets, cleaning schedules, and temperature logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Ensures all storage areas remain organized, labeled, dated, and compliant with FIFO and HACCP standards.
  • Monitors cleanliness and maintenance needs of dish machines, cart wash areas, floor drains, trash rooms, shelving, and utility equipment.
  • Assists with inventory organization, receiving deliveries, stock rotation, and maintaining storage security.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years experience

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
