Production Supervisor - Stella Jean's Ice Cream | San Diego, CA
Pay: Starting at $26.00/hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Stella Jean's Ice Cream is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to help lead our artisan production kitchen. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily production of our award-winning ice cream, baked goods, sauces, and other products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, efficiency, and team performance.

What You'll Do
- Lead and support the day-to-day operations of our production kitchen.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a high-performing production team.
- Plan and coordinate daily production schedules to meet retail, wholesale, and catering demands.
- Ensure all products are prepared accurately and consistently according to Stella Jean's recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients, packaging, and production supplies.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process to ensure consistency and product excellence.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
- Train new team members on recipes, equipment operation, food safety, and production procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to build a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has at least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in food production, commercial kitchens, bakeries, or food manufacturing.
- Leads with a hands-on approach and enjoys working alongside the team.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Has strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality products.
- Has a solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments.
- Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen and production equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Full-time
- 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM shift
- Weekend availability required
- Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on production needs
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- 3 years of experience in commercial food production, bakeries, food manufacturing, or high-volume kitchens
