Role: Supportive Housing Counselor
Term: Full-time/permanent
Location: Onsite in Dunkirk, NY
Travel: Frequent travel throughout Chautauqua County. Candidates must have clean, valid license. Will require use of personal vehicle for travel from site-to-site (mileage reimbursed).
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9-5pm Compensation: starting at $19.57 Per Hour
Benefits: We offer paid-time off, paid holidays, affordable medical/dental/vision, 403b retirement plan, and a profit sharing plan.
This individual will provide case management, rehabilitative, and restorative services to residents within our Supportive Housing program. Counselors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and monitoring residents’ daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting, in order to develop skills, abilities, and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently.

- Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health.

Counselors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and monitoring residents’ daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting, in order to develop skills, abilities, and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years’ experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years’ experience in human services.
- Experience with documentation.
- Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness, rehabilitative training methods, and community resources.
- Compassion, sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
- Professional demeaner
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Be able to travel to and among various facilities that are multileveled with stairs only.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes.
- Criminal Background check approved by NYS Office of Mental Health
