Heavy Machine Assembly Technician

SUMMARY

Machine Assembly and Repair Technicians support operations through a variety of activities required to complete new machinery builds and restore customer-returned equipment to meet original factory specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Mechanical and electromechanical assembly of industrial sorting machines according to engineering drawings and written instructions

· Adjustment and tuning of equipment to optimize performance

· Mechanical and electrical diagnosis, repair/rebuild and testing of malfunctioning equipment

· Assist in quality inspections and verify equipment meets performance standards prior to shipment

· Rigging equipment for unloading or shipment with use of overhead cranes and forklifts

· Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide technical training to other employees as required

· Ensure work area and tools are clean, organized, and comply with safety protocols

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Adherence to safe work practices in an industrial environment

· Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and high-quality standards

· Ability to work as a self-directed individual and as part of a team

· Availability to work overtime when required

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion

· Ability to drive a forklift

· Must pass full drug screening and background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Technical certification or trade school training

· Mechanical assembly, equipment repair, or industrial maintenance background

· Proficient with hand and power tools, basic electrical testing equipment, and mechanical measuring instruments

· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical manuals

· Use of overhead cranes and rigging

· Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures

· Experience working in a small department

· Lean Manufacturing implementation
