What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Supervisor position at STEIN DISTRIBUTING COMPANY INC?
I. OBJECTIVE / GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Supervise personnel; ensure proper training of new employees to meet Stein Distributing’s standards. Provide the supervision required for meeting all delivery schedules and ensuring good account relations. Foster effective communication between departments. Cultivate and maintain a culture of safety and accountability within your team.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recruit, interview, hire and train for open positions in the delivery department.
• Plan and adhere to a weekly schedule that includes training, ride withs, store checks and vehicle inspections.
• Ensure efficient and on time delivery service to all accounts, adhering to Stein Distributing standards and policies.
• Keep track of your direct reports hours daily and take corrective action to avoid excessive overtime.
• Provide excellent customer service, promptly following up with issues or complaints.
• Assist in resolving problems that may arise in the field and take corrective action as necessary.
• Perform 30/60/90-day orientation progress reports with all new hires.
• Perform yearly reviews and personal performance plans with all employees.
• Document and review all ride-withs, store checks, and vehicle inspections using the correct forms.
• Assist in correcting all error cards and bank corrections in a timely manner
• Prepare all necessary paperwork regarding PFP and have it ready at the month end.
• Help to create and participate in delivery meetings.
• Have a Break-Out meeting with your team once a month.
• Drive and maintain assigned vehicles to Stein’s standards.
• Check and respond to emails throughout the day.
• Adhere to company policies.
• Work with dispatch to ensure proper coverage daily.
• Assist in covering open routes as need be.
• Promptly resolve driving issues through couching and performance plans.
• Work with trainers to ensure all policies and standards are being met.
Qualifications:
- Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience/Requirements:
- Positive and professional attitude
- 3 years of beverage delivery experience
- Supervising experience preferable
- Valid and acceptable 3-year MVR
- Class A CDL with valid medical certificate
