Quality Technician - Night Shift

Night Shift Position

Shift Time: 4:30pm - 3:00am

Monday - Friday (Fridays as needed for mandatory overtime depending on production needs)

Key Responsibilities

1. Be knowledgeable in critical manufacturing process: fabrication, welding, assembly, paint.
2. Become knowledgeable on the Steffes Quality Management System (QMS).
3. Conduct inspections as required: First article, final, and receiving inspections.
4. Reads, understands, and communicates information pertaining to customer drawings, tolerances, specifications, etc.
5. Utilize the Steffes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for recording data related to inspections, non-conformances, and tool/device calibrations.
6. Conduct tool and device calibrations which includes managing tools sent to third parties.
7. Manage requests submitted for tools/devices.
8. Deliver quality training to all parties of Steffes organization.
9. Measure and scan material/parts under the direction of Quality Engineering.
10. Participate in projects related to quality assurance, quality control, and/or quality improvement.
11. Participate in customer, internal, and/or external quality audits.
12. Effectively and professionally communicate cross-functionally in the organization as relating to product and process conformity.
13. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
14. Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
15. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer knowledge – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Internet
• Effective oral and written communication skills, intermediate interpersonal skills.
• Spelling and reading skills (Basic instructional and technical information)
• Basic and advanced math skills
• Self-driven, flexible/adaptable, and able to effectively manage time, priorities, and resources

• This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
• Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
• Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
• Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
• This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions
• Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
