As a thriving auction company since 1960, Steffes Group has built a reputation for successfully selling a wide range of assets—from agricultural equipment, land, and livestock to construction equipment, estates, and business holdings. With continued growth and expanded services, we are seeking an Auction Coordinator to support the execution of seamless, high-quality auctions.
The Auction Coordinator works closely with the Sales, Operations, and Administrative teams to coordinate auction listings, prepare assets for sale, and provide outstanding service to buyers and sellers. This role is critical to ensuring auctions are accurately represented, professionally managed, and executed smoothly from start to finish. This individual will ideally live in the western North Dakota area with the understanding that travel throughout North Dakota and surrounding states will be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Auction Coordination & Asset Preparation
- Travel to auction sites to photograph and document upcoming auction items, working professionally and respectfully with sellers
- Capture high-quality photos and gather detailed, accurate information to ensure items are properly represented
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure equipment and assets are staged, described, and prepared according to auction timelines
- Assist in organizing auction items in alignment with sale requirements and company standards
Listing & Documentation
- Work closely with the Administrative Team to post auction items online at the appropriate time
- Write clear, detailed, and accurate item descriptions using correct industry terminology
- Ensure all auction listings meet Steffes Group branding, quality, and data standards
Customer & Client Support
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for potential and current buyers and sellers
- Respond to questions related to auction items, bidding processes, timelines, pickup, and general auction procedures
- Provide support before, during, and after auctions to ensure a positive customer experience
- Escalate item or customer concerns as needed to ensure timely resolution
Team Collaboration
- Partner with Steffes Group teams, both locally and throughout other Steffes Group offices and auction territories, to support smooth auction execution
- Communicate proactively to ensure alignment across teams throughout the auction lifecycle
- Support auction-day activities and post-auction processes as required
EXPERIENCE
- Baseline knowledge of agricultural and/or construction equipment is required
- Background in agriculture and/or construction and previous business experience strongly preferred
- Prior leadership or training experience is strongly preferred.
- General understanding of auction processes and procedures is beneficial
- Proficiency with technology & Microsoft Office products required

- Exceptional verbal, written, and customer service communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, including grammar, accuracy, and appropriate industry terminology
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, often pivoting with little notice
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight travel as needed
