ROLE/ POSITION IT Lab Support - 20 hours a week with occasional additional hours as needed.
Hardware & Systems Maintenance
- Install, configure, maintain, and decommission lab hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, storage devices, wireless devices, and peripherals
- Perform routine diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and component replacements
- Image, patch, and upgrade operating systems and firmware in alignment with company standards
- Install, configure, and maintain lab software, tools, and applications
- Support testing and validation of software updates, patches, and new technologies
- Ensure systems comply with corporate security and configuration policies
- Manage structured cabling, labeling, and patching to ensure a clean, organized, and functional lab environment
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues (LAN, VLANs, IP addressing)
- Create and maintain accurate lab documentation including network diagrams, system configurations, build guides, and procedures
- Document changes, issues, and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and audit requirements
- Follow and help improve lab standards, processes, and best practices
- Track lab assets including hardware, software licenses, cables, wireless devices, and accessories
- Maintain inventory records, asset tags, and lifecycle status
- Coordinate equipment procurement, storage, refresh, and disposal in accordance with corporate policies
- Work closely with corporate IT teams (infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams) to support lab initiatives
- Assist with testing, proof-of-concepts, and pre-production validation
- Provide hands-on support for internal stakeholders using the lab environment

Minimum Qualifications
- Basic hands-on experience supporting IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, storage devices, and peripherals
- Working knowledge of operating system installation, imaging, patching, and firmware upgrades (Windows and/or Linux)
- Experience installing and maintaining software, tools, and applications in a lab or technical environment
- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including LANs, VLANs, IP addressing, and basic connectivity troubleshooting
- Ability to perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and component replacement
- Experience creating or maintaining technical documentation such as system configurations, build guides, or procedures
- Familiarity with IT asset tracking, inventory management, and equipment handling
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow corporate standards, security policies, and procedures
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional IT teams
- Ability to work part-time (20 hours per week) with flexibility for occasional additional hours as needed
- Previous experience supporting an IT lab, test lab, or enterprise technology environment
- Hands-on experience with servers, storage systems, wireless devices, and structured cabling
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise networking issues, including VLAN segmentation and performance problems
- Familiarity with corporate IT environments, security controls, configuration management, and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting testing, proof‑of‑concepts, or pre‑production validation efforts
- Exposure to asset lifecycle management, including procurement, refresh cycles, and disposal processes
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced technical environment
- Enrollment in or completion of coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
