Job Summary
As a Driving Instructor at Steer Driving School, you'll make a lasting impact on students of all ages, guiding them to become confident, skilled, and responsible drivers. Your role involves:
- One-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction for teens and adults
- Building students' confidence and comfort behind the wheel
- Teaching road laws, regulations, and safe driving practices
You'll play a vital part in shaping the next generation of drivers and helping them achieve their driving goals.
This role requires excellent communication skills. The Driving Instructor will work closely with students to ensure they gain the necessary skills and confidence to become safe, responsible drivers.

Instructor Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction using company vehicles, teaching safe driving practices and offering personalized feedback.
- Evaluate student performance using a standardized assessment form.
- Transport students to and from designated locations, such as the driving school or high schools.
- Tailor instruction to meet individual students' needs and learning styles.
- Participate in quarterly meetings to stay updated on curriculum and best practices.
Instructor Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with 5 years of driving experience
- Clean driving record (2 points or less)
- Pass comprehensive background check (BCI & FBI)
- Commitment to 52 hours of paid training for success
- Excellent communication skills: engaging, enthusiastic, and patient
- Professional demeanor: respectful, well-groomed, and courteous in interactions with students, parents, and partners.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Teaching or tutoring experience
- Coaching or mentoring experience
- Law enforcement or driving instruction background
These experiences can enhance your qualifications and effectiveness as a driving instructor.
Location: Sidney and Troy OH, plus surrounding areas
Type: Part-time / Full-time
Compensation: $16/hour
Start Date: Immediate
