Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our tire retreading plant & equipment as well as our service & warehousing facility. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable environment by performing a wide range of repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a critical member of our team while having the freedom to work on a part-time basis with flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting & maintaining retread plant equipment.
- Inspecting & maintaining shop compressed air system, including PM maintenance on air compressors and air-drying equipment.
- Maintenance of facilities, including: fixing doors & gates, cleaning HVAC window units, dock plate inspections & repairs, painting & patching block walls, etc.
- Rebuilding equipment such as: pneumatic cylinders, air tools & air motors, etc.
- Becoming familiar with retread plant equipment by reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems.
- Record maintenance activities in UpKeep (CMMS)
- Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, including supervising team members or contractors when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Support manufacturing operations by providing timely repairs to minimize production disruptions.
- Effectively communicating with Technical Service Representatives.
- The ordering & maintenance of spare parts inventory.
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities/manufacturing maintenance.
- Strong mechanical & technical knowledge base.
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, including experience working with schematics and using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with CMMS and the importance of maintenance record keeping.
- Strong understanding of schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
- The ability to work well with others and properly lead a subordinate when assigned a helper.
- Clear communication skills in English.
- The ability to identify & select the proper tools for the job.
- Forward-thinking mentality in all things, "What can I do today that will prevent downtime and disruption tomorrow?".
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
