Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints to assemble structural and miscellaneous steel members accurately.
- Tack Welding: Perform precise tack welding on parts as per project requirements.
- Tool Proficiency: Own and efficiently use basic tools including tape measures, combination squares, bevel squares, etc.
- Weld Joint Preparation: Prepare weld joints for both partial and complete joint penetration.
- Weld Symbols: Understand or be willing to learn commonly used weld symbols.
- Quality Control: Repair any work found to be unsatisfactory according to company policy.
- Advanced Tool Usage: Learn and use tools common at Steel-works such as tape measures, oxy-fuel torches, carbon arc gougers, stud welding machines, overhead cranes, grinders, minor weld inspection tools, etc.
- Company Values: Learn and practice Steel-works' values and ethics (SWOC) daily.
- Supervisory Assistance: Assist the direct supervisor as needed.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Proficiency in tack welding.
- Ownership and efficient use of basic fitting tools.
- Ability to prepare weld joints accurately.
- Willingness to learn and understand weld symbols.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, advanced tools used in steel fitting.
