Job Overview
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Pipe and Duct Insulator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for insulating pipes and ducts on various construction projects, ensuring energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your skills in insulation techniques and construction practices.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and mechanical systems according to project plans and schematics
- Use hand tools and power tools to secure insulation in place with appropriate fasteners and adhesives
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine insulation specifications and installation procedures
- Apply caulking, sealing, or trimming to ensure insulation is properly fitted and finished for optimal performance
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, HVAC technicians, or masons to coordinate installation activities
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing materials and disposing of waste properly
- Conduct inspections of installed insulation for quality assurance and adherence to safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site work, especially in insulation or related trades such as carpentry or masonry
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., knives, scissors) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) used in insulation installation
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, or fabrication processes
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and material calculations
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for insulation work
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary
