Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented experienced Pathology Manager to lead our clinical and research laboratory & warehouse operations. Duties
- Manage and coordinate all laboratory activities, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis to ensure timely and accurate results.
- Supervise laboratory staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
- Maintain rigorous quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols to uphold compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and CAP (College of American Pathologists).
- Ensure proper documentation management using laboratory information management systems (LIMS), including data collection, sample tracking, and report generation.
- Implement and monitor safety procedures adhering to aseptic techniques, blood sampling protocols, and physiology knowledge to protect staff and samples.
- Coordinate with clinical teams on specimen collection/processing for hospital-based testing or clinical trials.
- Manage scheduling for laboratory operations to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Oversee inventory control of reagents, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, vital signs monitoring, and laboratory procedures.
Skills
- Extensive experience with clinical laboratory techniques including ELISA, PCR, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and other assay methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with proven supervisory experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and document management systems for accurate data handling.
- Excellent understanding of quality management systems (QMS), QA/QC processes, and compliance standards such as CLIA or CAP accreditation requirements.
- Knowledge of hospital procedures related to specimen collection, blood sampling, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and vital signs monitoring.
- Ability to interpret complex medical terminology and anatomy relevant to pathology testing.
- Skilled in managing schedules efficiently while maintaining high standards of laboratory operations.
- Strong analysis skills for data collection, interpretation of assay results, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams involved in clinical trials or patient diagnostics.
- Familiarity with safety protocols including aseptic technique and biosafety practices essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
