Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented experienced Pathology Manager to lead our clinical and research laboratory & warehouse operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily management of laboratory workflows, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and supervise a team of skilled technicians. Your expertise will drive the accuracy and efficiency of specimen processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence patient care quality and support innovative clinical trials through meticulous laboratory oversight.

Duties

  • Manage and coordinate all laboratory activities, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Supervise laboratory staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols to uphold compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and CAP (College of American Pathologists).
  • Ensure proper documentation management using laboratory information management systems (LIMS), including data collection, sample tracking, and report generation.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures adhering to aseptic techniques, blood sampling protocols, and physiology knowledge to protect staff and samples.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams on specimen collection/processing for hospital-based testing or clinical trials.
  • Manage scheduling for laboratory operations to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Oversee inventory control of reagents, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, vital signs monitoring, and laboratory procedures.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with clinical laboratory techniques including ELISA, PCR, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and other assay methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven supervisory experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and document management systems for accurate data handling.
  • Excellent understanding of quality management systems (QMS), QA/QC processes, and compliance standards such as CLIA or CAP accreditation requirements.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures related to specimen collection, blood sampling, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Ability to interpret complex medical terminology and anatomy relevant to pathology testing.
  • Skilled in managing schedules efficiently while maintaining high standards of laboratory operations.
  • Strong analysis skills for data collection, interpretation of assay results, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams involved in clinical trials or patient diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols including aseptic technique and biosafety practices essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
