Job Overview
Our steel fabrication shop is seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to oversee and optimize welding & fabrication operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead production teams, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure high-quality standards are maintained. This role requires strong leadership in plant management, expertise in manufacturing processes, and proficiency in working with a wide variety of welders, fabricators, machine operators, administrative personnel and vendors. Role is responsible to achieve continued financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of welding production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with support management team to ensure all areas of plant are working in unison and safely to achieve quality products.
- Ensure implementation and efficiency of production plans aligned with overall manufacturing goals and customer demands.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Oversee supply chain management to ensure best suited vendors are used to achieve plants' production and financial needs.
- Monitor and improve process efficiencies through process improvement strategies and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, assembly processes, and operations management.
- Manage personnel, including training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies related to plant operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality control, equipment maintenance, and workforce performance to ensure operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in welding or metal fabrication industries.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage thriving steel fabrication team.
- Extensive experience in Production management, Manufacturing, Operations management, and Plant management.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Process improvement, and Continuous improvement.
- IDEALLY has mechanical knowledge related to welding equipment, assembly lines, and industrial machinery. Ability to lead cross-functional teams with excellent communication skills.
- Expertise in Quality control methodologies to uphold product standards.
