Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Yard Specialist to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficient materials handling, inventory management, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. Your proactive approach will help us maintain safety standards while supporting the timely shipping and receiving of construction supplies.

Duties

• Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for shipment using RF scanners and manual methods
• Manage inventory levels through proper materials handling and stock organization
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all items are correctly documented and stored
• Maintain a clean, organized yard environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Support warehouse supervisors in daily operations, including manual handling tasks and heavy lifting as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environment preferred
• Knowledge of order picking, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory management systems
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools
• Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence
• Basic math skills for inventory counting and order processing
• Warehouse experience or warehouse supervisor experience is a plus
• Valid certification for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation is desirable
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Benefits

This position is base salary only. No commissions or performance-based bonuses are offered.

The following benefits are offered to eligible employees:

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance: Available to eligible full-time employees. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following the employee's date of hire.
• Life insurance: Company-paid life insurance coverage of up to $50,000 is available to eligible full-time employees. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following the employee's date of hire.
• Paid vacation: Paid vacation accrues at a rate equivalent to one week during the first year of employment and two weeks annually beginning with the second year of employment.
• Paid sick leave: Paid sick leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 40 hours worked, in accordance with applicable Washington State and Seattle paid sick leave requirements.
• Paid holidays: Eight paid holidays and one floating holiday annually.
• 401(k) retirement plan: Available after 60 days of employment, with a company match of up to 4% of eligible employee contributions.

• Day shift
• Eight-hour shift
• Occasional additional hours as business needs require

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
