Summary
Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Laser Programmer performs daily duties on the computer preparing nests in either Lantek or BySoft Software, ensures timely nesting requests, accurate capacity tracking and efficient use of raw material. They are also responsible for maintaining and tracking drop inventory, communicating clearly with purchasing on material requests, and working closely with laser operators to ensure efficient production.

- Prepare Jobs in Lantek and BySoft nesting Software
- Review AutoCAD DXF’s and NC File for errors and work closely with engineering to fix
- Organize parts for laser cutting to minimize waste and optimize use of full sheets/sticks of steel.
- Prioritize nesting parts based on production schedule, available material and available capacity
- Track scrap rates and implement strategies to reduce material loss
- Maintain drop inventory
- Additional duties as assigned by manager

- Basic AutoCAD understanding
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with Fiber or CO2 Laser cutting machines preferred
- 1-3 Years of Fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred
- Excel and other Microsoft software experience preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required.
