Overview
The Sober Connection is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Contract Psychiatrist Medical Director and Collaborator for an Inpatient Mental Health Residential treatment facility. This is a 1099 contract, hybrid leadership role requiring on-site presence ONLY ONE HALF DAY a week to be part of a multidisciplinary team meeting. No direct patient care.
Duties
- Serve as a Psychiatrist Medical Director overseeing all medical services across programs, ensuring alignment with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Psychiatrist- Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners in accordance with Georgia state regulations, including chart review, case consultation, and clinical guidance.
- Review, co-sign, and ensure timely completion of all required documentation in the EHR (admissions, progress notes, orders, discharges).
- Approve, develop, and maintain psychiatrist medical and medication-related policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care planning as needed.
- Remotely attend and contribute to quarterly Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement meetings and support audit readiness (CARF, Joint Commission, state).
- Be available for remote consultation outside of on-site days for urgent clinical needs or provider support
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Active, unrestricted Georgia medical license and DEA registration.
- Professional liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000/$3,000,000.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatrist/behavioral health, addiction medicine, or similar setting (leadership experience preferred).
- Experience working in residential or inpatient psychiatric settings strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of LOCUS criteria, withdrawal management protocols, and psychiatric best practices.
- Ability to work independently as a contractor while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Pay: $6,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
