Material Processor/Shop Laborer

Position (MPR/SHL): Material Processor/Shop Laborer

Pay: $20-25 hr. depending upon experience. Eligible for first wage increase at initial review at 60 days.

Work Schedule: 45-55 hr./week depending on workload, Monday-Friday, Saturday as needed (Steelcon utilizes flex time, facility open 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM to get weekly required hours)

Travel Requirements: No

Job Duties:

1. Material Handling: Load and unload steel parts, move stock to designated work areas, and transport tools or supplies using forklifts, cranes, trucks, or by hand.

2. Machine Assistance: Help set up and feed metal parts into cutting or shaping machines, then remove finished pieces.

3. Cutting and shaping: Operate and maintain saws, shears, plasma cutters, and CNC processing machines to size steel parts.

4. Grinding and finishing: Smooth edges, remove burrs, and prepare surfaces for welding or assembly.

5. Bevel and threading: Bevel and thread pipe to required specifications for fabrication and assembly

6. General Shop Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized work areas by sweeping floors, removing waste and scrap, and properly sorting, recycling, or disposing of steel pieces.

General Requirements:

1. Dependable, team player

2. Willing and able to work up to 55 hours per week when needed.

3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

4. Basic computer/tablet knowledge

5. Driver's License

6. OSHA 10 Hour- to be obtained within 60 days of hire

7. Provide all hand tools required for position- to be obtained within 30 days of hire

Educational/Technical Requirements:

1. Experienced with Microsoft Excel/Word

2. High School Degree or GED

Beneficial Attributes:

1. Experience CNC centers

2. Experience with cranes & tow moters
