Drafter

Position: Drafter

Pay: $24 - $32/hr. ($48,000-$80,000/year) Depending on experience.

Work Schedule: 45-55 hr./week depending on workload, Monday-Friday, Saturday as needed (Steelcon utilizes flex time, facility open 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM to get weekly required hours)

Travel Requirements: No

Job Duties:

1. Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for pressure vessels, tanks, and steel structures.

2. Translate engineering concepts into fabrication-ready drawings

3. Apply correct symbols, dimensions, and tolerances in drawings

4. Ensure drawings comply with ASME codes and fabrication standards.

5. Develop and maintain accurate BOMs for each project.

6. Track material specifications, quantities, and part numbers to support fabrication.

7. Update drawings based on design changes, customer requirements, or inspection feedback.

8. Update BOMs as design revisions occur.

9. Request and compare vendor quotes for raw steel, fittings, flanges, and other components

10. Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions for certification and audits

11. Assist level 2 and level 3 drafters as needed

General Requirements:

1. Dependable, team player

2. Willing and able to work up to 55 hours per week when needed.

3. Basic computer/tablet knowledge

4. Driver’s License

5. Pass pre-employment and random drug tests

Educational/Technical Requirements:

1. High School Degree or GED

2. Drafting degree (2 year degree) or minimal 4 years’ experience

3. Extensive experience with Inventor and AutoCAD
