Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher for our English Language Learner (ELL/ESL) classroom to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the educational development of students across various grade levels. As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into the ELL classroom to ensure continuity of instruction while maintaining a supportive and engaging atmosphere for students.
THIS POSITION WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM DEC. 4 THROUGH JAN. 22 (District will be on holiday break 12.23-1.6)
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure students meet learning objectives.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and productive learning environment.
- Supervise students during class activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Certification in ELL/ESL (or actively in process)
- Understanding of childhood development stages and how they impact learning.
- Experience in literacy education, including reading comprehension strategies.
- Proficiency in math instruction tailored for various age groups.
- Ability to work effectively with children.
- Strong behavior management skills to maintain a conducive classroom environment.
- Excellent classroom management abilities to engage students effectively.
