EDM Sinker Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Steel Tool & Engineering in Michigan is hiring a full-time EDM Sinker Machine Operator to join our precision-driven team.

Must-Have Qualifications for an EDM Sinker Machine Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience operating Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of materials such as titanium, aluminum, and tool steels

Preferred:

• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards
• Technical certification in machining
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and G-code programming

Responsibilities Include:

As an EDM Sinker Machine Operator, you will spend your day setting up and operating EDM sinker machines to manufacture high-precision parts according to engineering specifications. You will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements, then select the right electrodes, tooling, and machine parameters for each job. Throughout the day, you will monitor machining processes closely, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance and part quality. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting will be part of your workflow, as well as conducting inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify accuracy. You will also document process parameters, production data, and quality results while collaborating with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and continuously improve processes. Maintaining safety standards and keeping your work area clean and organized will always remain a priority. We are hiring for second-shift roles.
