Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Steel Rule Die Finishing Technician to join our die shop team. This role is responsible for the final preparation of steel rule cutting dies, including the application of ejection rubber and operation of rubber cutting equipment, and shipping to our customers. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work and is interested in developing skills across multiple areas of die manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply ejection rubber to steel rule dies according to job specifications and quality standards
- Operate rubber cutting machines to accurately size and shape materials
- Inspect completed dies to ensure proper rubber placement, adhesion, and overall functionality
- Read and interpret work orders, layouts, and basic die drawings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with die assembly, repair, and modification as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Shipping/Receiving
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred, but not required
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment safely
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Willingness to ask plenty of questions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 lbs
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
