What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Supervisor - 3rd Shift (Sunday- Thursday, 10:00 PM- 6:30 AM) position at Steel Manufacturing and Warehouse Company?
Oversees assigned warehouse employees, production and efficiency, to make sure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely. The last line of defense for quality control before material leaves the plant.
- Maintains optimum operation within assigned shift by scheduling workers, training new employees, collecting and looking through data to find places of waste or places of improvement, keep an eye on worker and plant safety, monitor the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
- Ensures all quality and delivery commitments are met.
- Assists in directing the resolution of operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Interprets specification, work orders to worker, and assigns duties.
- Interfaces with scheduling, plant management other shifts in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures in assigned shift to meet production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working condition and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Directs warehouse staff within assigned shift to adhere and follow processes and procedures
- Able to fulfill and complete duties of all basic jobs/employees on assigned shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour
