Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Accounting Supervisor
Summary: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including accounts receivable, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and payroll. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and processes daily cash, ACH, wire transfers and credit card deposits and fills out cash control sheet daily in accordance with banks.
- Prepares, copies, files, and ensures invoices are emailed successfully, receipts, correspondence, and other requested items.
- Processes, tracks and contacts customers regarding finance charges.
- Researches and processes charge backs and credits,and monitors bad checks.
- Answers accounts receivable inquiries and follows up.
- Processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- Tracks and monitors the PTO and points for the bi-weekly payroll team members.
- Assists with related special projects including audit requests, as required.
- Prepares analysis and summaries of accounts as well as trial balances and statements.
