The Driver / Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating mobile equipment to load / unload material to support sourcing, dismantling, and to facilitate the movement and processing of scrap materials; including on-site transportation. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do
- Operate forklifts to dump scrap into roll-offs, trailers, or compactors according to material grades.
- Load trailers to specified weights and replace full trailers from bays.
- Drive trailers across scales and refuel trucks at local gas stations.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections, fueling, and daily lubrication of equipment.
- Complete shipping documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and assist with sorting duties as assigned.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.QualificationsWhat We Look For
- Must possess or obtain forklift license.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to solve problems independently.
- Capability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Ability to perform housekeeping responsibilities such as shoveling and sweeping.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED.REQUIRED :
- Must have or be willing to obtain Class A - Commercial Driver's LicenseNICE TO HAVES :
- Previous knowledge of scrap materials handling.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.Schedule :
- Monday - Friday from 5 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM.
