The Robotic Welder is responsible for operating robotic welding systems to fabricate and assemble metal components in a steel fabrication environment. This role primarily involves robotic welding on a range of materials. This position will have experience in robotic welding systems, blueprint reading, and quality control processes to ensure precise and efficient welds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding on various metals.
- Perform stud welding and/or metal finishing as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- With supervision, adjust machine settings and welding parameters to optimize performance and quality.
- Monitor welding operations to detect malfunctions, ensure precision, and make necessary adjustments.
- Identify and repair weld defects as needed.
- Perform quality inspections on welds using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance on robotic welding equipment and report any issues or needed repairs.
- Work collaboratively with fabricators, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
- Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training:
- Knowledge and experience of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
- Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in production welding position.
- Must obtain necessary weld certifications.
- Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
- Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
- Must possess proficiency in geometry (angles, radius, circumference, etc.)
- Must possess mechanical aptitude.
- Must possess proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Must possess proficiency in interpreting weld symbols.
- Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications.

- Knowledge and experience of GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
- Exposure to Shoplogix data entry

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move between work areas.
- Regularly required to talk and listen, as well as climb, balance, and reach above shoulder level.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Working Environment
