The CNC Machinist Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce high-quality steel components in a fabrication production plant. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience/education in CNC machining, blueprint reading, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate CNC machines to fabricate steel components according to specifications.
• Produce parts as assigned to support production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Report any equipment issues/malfunctions to shop leadership and/or maintenance.
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform visual and dimensional quality checks.
• Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
• Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.
• Work closely with co-workers to improve machining processes and productivity.
• Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training:
• Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in CNC machining operations.
• Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
• Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
• Must possess mechanical aptitude
• Must possess proficiency in reading machining blueprints.
• Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications

Experience and/or Training:
• Prior experience with Haas CNC Machines
• Prior lifting device experience (forklift, cranes, jibs, hoists, magnets, etc.)

•• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move between work areas.
• Regularly required to talk and listen, as well as climb, balance, and reach above shoulder level.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
• The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.

Working Environment
