As trade show booth, permanent display, Graphic Designer you will lead the creative vision behind our custom trade show exhibits, branded environments, and permanent installations. You will be responsible for concepting, designing, and guiding the execution of visually compelling, strategically grounded experiences that align with our clients’ goals and elevate their presence in the marketplace.


Working closely with clients, project managers, and production teams, you will ensure that each design is not only bold and innovative, but also feasible, buildable, and delivered with excellence. This role is ideal for a creative leader who blends imagination with discipline, strategy with storytelling, and vision with execution.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Vision & Strategy

  • Lead the conceptual development and design of custom exhibit booths, branded environments, and experiential spaces.
  • Create high-quality 3D designs, renderings, and visualizations using tools such as Form FormZ, Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk, Maya, 3ds Max, SketchUp, or comparable software.
  • Translate brand strategy, messaging, and objectives into spatial design concepts that captivate audiences and drive engagement.
  • Incorporate innovative design elements, materials, technologies, and interactive components to enhance the attendee experience.
  • Ensure creative concepts align with client goals, budgets, timelines, and fabrication realities.


Client Collaboration & Brand Stewardship

  • Partner directly with clients to understand their brand identity, marketing objectives, audience, and success metrics.
  • Present design concepts clearly and confidently, guiding clients through creative rationale and design decisions.
  • Incorporate client feedback thoughtfully while protecting the integrity and effectiveness of the creative vision.
  • Serve as a trusted creative advisor, helping clients see new possibilities for how their brand can show up in physical space.


Project Collaboration & Execution

  • Collaborate closely with project management, estimating, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and executable.
  • Provide creative guidance and oversight during fabrication and installation to ensure the final build aligns with approved designs.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with internal teams and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized design files, documentation, and assets for current and future use.
  • Work with external vendors and partners to source and procure graphic elements and specialty materials as needed.
  • Participate in internal brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and creative critiques to continuously elevate the work.


Innovation & Industry Leadership

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in exhibit and experiential design.
  • Research and explore new fabrication techniques, technologies, and design approaches.
  • Introduce forward-thinking ideas that enhance client outcomes and differentiate Steel City Displays in the market.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to evolve and strengthen the company’s creative offerings.


Other Duties as Assigned

As part of a dynamic and growing team, you may occasionally support additional creative or strategic initiatives that contribute to the company’s success and evolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field
  • (or equivalent professional experience with a strong portfolio)
  • Proven experience in exhibit design, experiential design, or a related field.
  • On-Site and In person role at our Phoenixville, PA office.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, 3D design, and execution of immersive brand environments.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization tools such as FormZ, Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk Maya, 3Ds Max, SketchUp, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of branding, marketing strategy, and spatial design principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, and production processes is a strong plus.
  • Experience with VR or AR tools is desirable but not required.
