What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Keeper - $20.00/hr - 1st Shift position at Steel and Pipe Supply?
The Grounds Keeper is responsible for ensuring all areas of the facility such as but not limited to: maintenance, production, and shipping, restrooms, lunchroom, driveways, parking areas and grounds surrounding the facility to ensure a safe work
environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required.
- Follow and enforce company safety polices and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
- Maintain clean inside and outside work areas
- Empty barrel and trash containers
- Maintain office floors, restrooms, and break rooms
- Perform other janitorial services as needed
- Operate equipment and tools for seasonal activities as necessary.
- Inventories cleaning supplies and notifies appropriate personnel when re‐orders are needed, being mindful of time allowance needed in ordering process. (different than SPS)
- Submit detailed and accurate work orders for any equipment issues as occurrences happen.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Time split between office environment and warehouse/plant or yard.
- Working in a yard or warehouse/plant within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel‐toed boots required daily.
- Job is performed under some temperature extremes
- Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to 8 hours per shift
- Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy)

What can you expect from the job?
- 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday
- Open-air warehouse
- Exposure to the elements
- Dirty working conditions
- Moderately stressful and constantly changing work environment
- Lots of walking and standing – up to 8 hours a day
- Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material up to 51lbs.
What are the requirements?
- Valid driver’s license
- 18 years old
- Basic literacy for reading instructions and using hand tools

Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay of $20.00 an hour
- Quarterly profit sharing bonus opportunity
