We are seeking an enthusiastic, full-time Elementary Teacher to guide our lower and upper elementary students (Grades K–5). You will lead intimate classrooms with small class sizes, ensuring every child receives personalized attention tailored to their pace and cognitive profile.

Position Overview

The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering age-appropriate lessons in a nurturing, structured, and safe classroom environment. The successful candidate will integrate STEAM-based learning into daily instruction to promote problem-solving, exploration, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons that align with Florida state academic standards and STEAMUP Academy’s elementary curriculum.
  • STEAM Integration: Design and implement hands-on, project-based STEAM activities that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry.
  • Classroom Culture: Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom community that promotes mutual respect, student accountability, and a growth mindset.
  • Holistic Student Development: Support students' academic, social-emotional, and cognitive growth through structured instruction, collaborative group work, and independent learning.
  • Assessment & Data: Assess and monitor student progress using a mix of formative, summative, and informal assessments to drive instruction and differentiate learning.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain regular, proactive, and professional communication with parents and guardians regarding academic performance, behavior, and high school readiness; fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Collaboration: Partner with grade-level peers, specialists, and staff to support interdisciplinary learning, vertical alignment, and school-wide STEAM initiatives.
  • Classroom Management: Establish clear routines, expectations, and organizational systems to maintain a safe, productive, and efficient learning environment.
  • Professional Growth: Active participation in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school community events.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a closely related field is required.
  • Certification: Valid Florida State Teaching Certification (Elementary Education K-6) is highly preferred or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of one to two years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting (Grades K-5).
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. The ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable and considered a valuable asset for connecting with our diverse community.
  • STEAM Expertise: Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and lead age-appropriate, project-based STEAM activities for elementary students. Experience or specialized training in STEAM education is highly preferred.
  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills with a proven track record of establishing structured routines and a positive learning environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and engaging with parents.
  • Pedagogical Mindset: Ability to cultivate an inquiry-driven, highly engaging classroom that challenges students and supports diverse learning needs.
  • Dedication: A deep passion for elementary education and a strong commitment to the academic, social, and personal growth of young learners.

  • Competitive annual wage: $48,000 to $52,000, based on experience
  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday
