POSITION SUMMARY
The Steamboat Grand is looking to fill a lead year-round Bell Staff position. Must have previous bell/valet experience with a valid driver’s license. Being a role model is a must!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervise and work along side Bell staff, concurrently
Greet guests and owners arriving and departing from the hotel, open the doors, park guest’s cars, tote luggage and guest personal belongings to and from their rooms
In absence of bell captain, assist in staffing levels in accordance to guest service need
May drive vans and various vehicles for guest transportation to various locations around Steamboat
Handle guest service issues in professional, efficient manner
Maintain cleanliness and safety of lobby and entryway, clean windows, shovel snow, remove trash, mop floors, empty trash cans, etc. and maintain cleanliness of the bell staff closet
Assist front desk staff as needed, answer phones, deliver messages and packages to guests and staff
Knowledge of the hotel’s fire system and procedures in the event of an emergency
Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous efficient manner; provide superior service to our customers at all times
Follow and train staff on company safety regulations
Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous bell staff or valet employment experience required
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company’s insurance carriers driving record requirements
Must have a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be willing to get a CDL license
Read and interpret documents; safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures
Problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers
Be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED equivalent
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: Starting at $18.00 per hour plus tips
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age
Lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
Must be able to communicate in English both written and spoken
