Steam Soapery is a small business on Main Street in Chester, NJ that produces and sells hand-poured candles, handmade soap as well as other bath and body products.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, promoting and selling products, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide product information and demonstrate product features to customers
- Assist customers with their purchasing decisions and upsell additional products
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging displays
- Process customer returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals
Requirements:
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (Bilingual/Multilingual skills are a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling transactions
- Knowledge of sales or experience in selling candles, soap, bath and body products is desirable
- Ability to perform product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits
- Proficient in using a cash register and POS system
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
