What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer, AI Agents for Tax position at Stealth Startup?
Tax is a $100B industry and we’re automating it with agentic AI. Our platform processes thousands of complex workflows through a pipeline that spans data ingestion, AI processing, and integration with the professional software tools our users already depend on. We need a software engineer to help make this reliable at scale—especially during peak periods when accuracy is non-negotiable.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Build and maintain API integrations with third-party professional software platforms
• Extend data pipeline components for ingestion, transformation, validation, and export
• Write tests and monitoring for critical data flows to ensure accuracy under load
• Help maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines (AWS)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• 3 years of backend experience (internships count) in Python, Node.js, or similar
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and relational databases
• Attention to detail—in our domain, a misplaced value has real consequences
• Eagerness to learn a complex domain and grow as an engineer
BONUS POINTS
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CDK)
• Familiarity with data pipelines or ETL workflows
• Exposure to financial data or professional services software
