Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Salesforce release management for a federal defense program, ensuring all deployments align with DoD cybersecurity, audit, and configuration-management standards.
- Define and manage a secure, compliant ALM strategy including version control, sandbox strategy, branching/merging, and release governance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines appropriate for controlled defense environments using SFDX, Metadata API, Git-based workflows, and approved DevOps tools.
- Oversee all Salesforce environments (DEV, QA, UAT, staging, production), enforcing principles of least privilege, separation of duties, and strict governance.
- Manage release calendars, change-freeze periods, communications, deployment checklists, and documentation required in a federal change-control process (e.g., CAB approvals, audit logs).
- Execute deployments using packages, metadata deployments, and automated pipelines; ensure all testing, security scanning, and regression steps are completed.
- Maintain configuration control: capture any production-level changes (hotfixes) and ensure they are incorporated back into version control for audit completeness.
- Partner with Architects, Developers, QA, Cybersecurity, and Government Product Owners to ensure secure, timely, and reliable releases.
- Provide release documentation, change records, rollback plans, and audit-ready artifacts aligned with federal program requirements.
- Monitor Salesforce seasonal releases and communicate impacts to the defense client, including security implications and required readiness activities
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to maintain a DoD security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3–5 years of experience in Salesforce release engineering, DevOps, or ALM roles
- Deep understanding of Salesforce development lifecycle, metadata types, and deployment models (org-based and package-based)
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Salesforce release management best practices
- Sandbox/environment strategy
- Git-based version control and merge strategies
- CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce (SFDX, Ant, CI tools)
- Unlocked/manged packages, scratch orgs, API-based deployments
- Experience managing releases in secure or regulated environments (DoD, DHS, FedRAMP High, or similar)
- Familiarity with risk-based deployment planning, rollback procedures, and operational readiness reviews
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with technical and non-technical federal stakeholders
- Ability to produce audit-ready artifacts and comply with strict CM/QA processes
- Certified Platform Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architects
- Salesforce Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, and or/ Platform Developer I
- Prior experience with DoD programs, DISA SRG IL2–IL5, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or federal change-control processes
- Experience with Salesforce in a multi-org or enterprise defense environment
