What are the responsibilities and job description for the Photographer (equity-based role, tech startup, LA) position at Stealth Software Startup?
We’re looking for an experienced, self-sufficient photographer to execute high-volume outdoor product shoots across multiple retail locations in the Los Angeles area. THIS IS AN EQUITY-BASED ROLE.
This role is ideal for someone who can own the full process — from planning and coordination to shooting and file delivery — with a strong eye for clean, consistent imagery.
- Plan and execute on-location photo shoots across multiple retail environments
- Travel to shoot locations (up to ~40 miles each way)
- Coordinate logistics independently, including scheduling and any necessary permissions
- Source and manage a production assistant (as needed)
- Capture clean, consistent images of individual items in an outdoor retail setting
- Shoot both:
- Full-frame vertical shots (entire subject in frame)
- Detail shots (texture, color, close-up features)
- Maintain consistent shooting style across large volumes of images
- Accurately name and organize files according to provided structure
- Upload and deliver final image sets
- Strong experience in outdoor or on-location product photography
- Ability to produce clean, clutter-free compositions in uncontrolled environments
- Own professional-grade camera equipment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail (especially file naming and asset management)
- Self-directed and reliable — able to manage shoots independently
- Comfortable handling logistics, communication, and coordination on your own
- A minimum of two photoshoots per month (~4-6 hours each) post-production and final delivery completed within 1-2 weeks
