What are the responsibilities and job description for the Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering position at Stealth Robotics Startup?
We’re looking for a Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer to drive the development of an ambitious, technically challenging project focused on advanced dexterous manipulation. You’ll work directly with the technical founder to engineer, prototype, and test robotic systems and play a key hands-on role in delivering a working MVP. This is a rare opportunity to join an award-winning startup recognized by a leading Ivy League institution for technical innovation.
What You’ll Do
· Design, prototype, and test robotic and mechatronics systems to meet fast-evolving technical and product goals.
· Build and maintain demos, documentation, simulations, and visualizations to communicate progress effectively.
· Research and recommend key technologies, components, and partners across hardware and software domains.
· Collaborate closely with the founding team to deliver polished demos and updates to customers and stakeholders.
Who You Are
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
· Proven experience with robotic system design, integration, and rapid prototyping.
· Proficient in ROS/ROS2, Python (especially for intelligent systems), and C /C for embedded Linux-based systems.
· Track-record building complex systems that require multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, particularly for robotic manipulators, actuators, and end-effectors.
· You’re a high-drive problem solver who delivers results quickly without compromising quality.
· You see the countless challenges in highly ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic work environments as an asset rather than a liability.
What We Offer
A culture of transparency, innovation, and performance:
· Transparency: Open communication enables trust, collaboration, and shared vision.
· Innovation: Bold thinking and risk-taking are encouraged to deliver breakthrough solutions fast.
· Performance: Your hard work will be recognized and rewarded.
This role offers competitive pay. As we grow, there's room for this role to evolve into technical leadership.
We are very inspired by Ben Horowitz who in his book The Hard Thing About Hard Things wrote:
“In good organizations, people can focus on their work and have confidence that if they get their work done, good things will happen for both the company and them personally. It is a true pleasure to work in an organization such as this. Every person can wake up knowing that the work they do will be efficient, effective, and make a difference for the organization and themselves. These things make their jobs both motivating and fulfilling.”
This is the kind of company we’re building—and we hope you’ll join us in making it a reality.
