What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Team Member position at Steak ‘n Shake(A & G Restaurants)?
Overview
Team Members deliver the gold standard in service by providing the highest quality burgers and shakes. They prepare, cook, and assemble the guest orders. They support an environment of teamwork and demonstrate the Golden Rule.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and present food items according to our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Operate Aloha POS or Micros POS systems efficiently for order processing and payment handling.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while following cash handling procedures.
- Ensure a tidy restaurant atmosphere for guests.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or a quick service & fast food restaurant is preferred.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications are required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create positive interactions with guests.
- Culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and food handling procedures is important for maintaining health standards.
