PRN In-Home Caregiver

Job Summary

SteadiCare Home Care is hiring compassionate, dependable As-Needed (PRN) Caregivers to provide non-medical, non-skilled in-home support to clients across South Carolina.

This field-based position may include companionship, assistance with activities of daily living, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, transportation when assigned, and other approved non-medical support based on client needs.

This role does not include skilled nursing care, medical treatment, wound care, injections, therapy services, or medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance, as needed
• Assist with safe ambulation and transfers, as permitted by the care plan
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding, when appropriate
• Perform light housekeeping related to the client’s care needs
• Assist with laundry and linen changes
• Provide errands, shopping, and transportation when assigned
• Provide medication reminders or other non-medical medication assistance only as allowed by company policy and assignment
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition, behavior, or home environment
• Follow the client’s care plan and complete documentation accurately and on time
• Protect client dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and rights
• Report incidents, safety concerns, and suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation according to company policy

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with clients, family members as appropriate, and supervisors, and to complete required documentation accurately
• Able to complete assigned job duties and follow a care services plan with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance if transportation is required for the assignment
• Willing to complete all required pre-employment screening
• Willing to complete required orientation, training, and in-service education
• Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with client mobility, as assigned
• Must be willing to travel to SteadiCare Home Care’s Greenwood, South Carolina office on an occasional as-needed basis for onboarding, training, meetings, or other job-related requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous caregiver, home care, companion care, homemaker, direct care, assisted living, memory care, or related experience preferred
• Experience working with seniors, disabled adults, or clients needing assistance with activities of daily living preferred
• CNA experience welcome, but not required
• Flexible availability is a plus, based on scheduling and client needs

Schedule

• As Needed
• Scheduling based on client needs and assigned hours
• Day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required depending on assignment

Compensation

• Pay varies based on experience, credentials, and position type

Work Location

This is a field-based position in client homes throughout South Carolina. Applicants from across South Carolina are encouraged to apply. During the application process, applicants should indicate the county or counties where they are available to work.
