What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder Fitter position at Steadfast Employment?
Put your welding and fitting skills to work with Steadfast Employment! We’re seeking experienced welders/fitters who take pride in quality craftsmanship and work well with a team. Pay will depend on experience and the assignment.
What You’ll Do
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete welding and fitting tasks.
- Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts and structures.
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick, or flux-core welding as required by the assignment.
- Align and secure components using clamps, fixtures, and tack welds.
- Operate grinders, torches, welding machines, and fabrication tools safely.
- Inspect welds and assemblies for accuracy and quality.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous welding and fitting experience in a fabrication shop, industrial, construction, or shipyard setting.
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with one or more welding processes.
- Knowledge of metal preparation, fit-up, and fabrication techniques.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Reliable transportation to the assigned work location.
- Ability to pass a weld or fitting test if required.
Salary : $25 - $30
