Food & Nutrition Cook – Part Time, Benefit Eligible
Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital, stand-alone, not-for-profit hospital located in Ste. Genevieve, MO that focuses on personalized care. Our 25-inpatient bed facility is a Medicare 4-star rated and is ranked in the top 1% nationally for Patient Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. We are proud to extend the mission of SGCMH by putting people first with excellent, personalized, and compassionate healthcare. Our deep community roots date back as the oldest town west of the Mississippi river and is the first French settlement Missouri with the hospital employing approximately 490 employees and 100 multi-specialty providers on staff. Requirements
What to expect as a Food & Nutrition Cook:
- Position preps ingredients, measure, mixes, and cooks food for patients, cafeteria and catering. Prepares patient food according to Providers order. Serves cafeteria line and patient tray line. Run cash register.
- Stock kitchen food and supplies using FIFO rotation.
- Wash pots and pans, clean work areas, equipment, dining room, and other duties as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service, promote teamwork with great communication (both orally and written).
- Multi-task in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
- Learn and follow policies and procedures to meet department standards.
- Practice Safe food handling in receiving, preparation, cooking, holding, storage and cleaning.
- Perform heavy physical work throughout shift.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- One to two years commercial Food Service experience preferred. Culinary knowledge preferred.
- Ability to learn to operate and clean a variety of kitchen equipment is required.
- Read and understand menus, diets and to follow established recipes is required.
- Basic computer skills for education.
- Ability to obtain Food Handler certificate after hired is required.
