Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, meat cutting, and food handling, ensuring high-quality products and exceptional customer service. This role involves preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to food safety standards and industry regulations. The Butcher will play a vital role in maintaining the quality and presentation of our meat offerings while supporting overall kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meats according to specified standards and customer preferences
  • Package meat products securely for retail display or custom distribution
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all tools, equipment, and work areas in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
  • Ensure all meat products are stored at proper temperatures and handled with care to prevent contamination
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
  • Follow all safety procedures related to knife handling and food safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, meat cutting, or related culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
  • Strong knife skills with the ability to efficiently cut, trim, and prepare different types of meat products
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
  • Experience with packaging meat products for retail or wholesale purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure quality and presentation standards are met
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Prior kitchen or culinary experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn on the job is essential
